Tyler Robinson said he killed Charlie Kirk because 'extends too much hate': officials

Tyler Robinson, the person accused of killing the influential conservative Charlie Kirk during an event at the University of Utah Valley on September 10, has been formally accused of a large number of crimes, including aggravated murder, with prosecutors who announce the intention of seeking the penalty of death.

Robinson, 22, has also been accused of discharge of a serious crime of a firearm that causes serious body injuries, obstruction of justice, two charges of witness manipulation and commission of a violent crime in the presence of a child, the prosecutor of Utah County, Jeff Gray, announced Tuesday.

Gray, who described Kirk’s death as “an American tragedy,” said he does not “make this decision lightly” regarding looking for the death penalty for Robinson. The alleged shooter will continue to be held without bail.

Robinson is also scheduled to make his first appearance in court on Tuesday.

Robinson was arrested last week for the discharge of a firearm, aggravated murder and the obstruction of justice, according to probable cause documents and was hired in the Utah county jail.

Robinson was arrested after his father recognized him in photographs published by the authorities, said the governor of Utah, Spencer Cox, last week.

“Robinson’s father reported that when his wife showed him the surveillance image of the alleged shooter in the news, he agreed that his son looked like,” according to the accusation documents.

His father told Robinson to be delivered, with the 22 -year -old initially saying no, but then changing his mind, the authorities said previously.

“While they argued the situation, Robinson implied that he was the shooter and declared that he could not go to jail and that he just wanted to finish it,” the loading documents said.

His parents then asked his son why he committed this crime, to whom he said: “There is too bad and the guy. [Charlie Kirk] It extends too much hate, “according to loading documents.

The suspect’s parents urged Robinson to talk to a family friend who is an attached sheriff, who convinced him to surrender, according to the accusation documents.

Prosecutors also revealed conversations between the suspect and his roommate in the moments after the shooting.

“He had enough of his hatred. You can’t negotiate any hatred,” reads one of the messages.

Researchers continue to evaluate evidence, including the observation of electronic devices to which the suspect may have had access, since federal charges could be announced in the coming days, they told ABC News to ABC News.

The officials have not revealed a reason, although Vice President JD Vance says that “the extremism of the left” is “part of the reason” Kirk was killed.

Discord, a Messenger Platform of Grupal Chat, confirmed on Monday that Robinson sent messages two hours before they stopped him admitting that he shot the influential conservative.

“Hello guys, I have bad news for everyone … I went in Uvu yesterday. I’m sorry for all this,” reads one of the messages.

During a hearing of the Senate Judicial Committee on Tuesday, the director of the FBI, Kash Patel, said that the FBI is investigating “anyone and all those involved in that discord chat.”

Patel said there are “much more” than 20 people linked to Robinson in Discord and that the FBI is “executing them all.” He added that a “number of individuals is currently being investigated.”

At a press conference from the Oval office on Monday night, President Donald Trump said Robinson seemed to be radicalized on the Internet.

“Something happened for a quite short period of time. It seems that it was radicalized through the Internet, and is radicalized to the left. It is a left,” Trump said.

It is alleged that Robinson had an “obsession” with the influential conservative, based on the digital footprint of the alleged shooter, said FBI defender’s director, Dan Bongino, in Fox News.

Bongino said the suspect seemed to have exhibited “multiple warning signals.”

“I think the coworkers declared that it had separated when the issue of politics occurred and left,” said Bongino in “America’s Newsroom” of Fox News.

Bongino said they are investigating if someone knew that the shooting could occur and not alert the authorities, referring to the discord chats that Robinson supposedly had about Kirk.

“Did they hear him and thought it was a joke? That is what we are trying to discover now,” he told Fox News. “If there is a bigger network here, we will take it out to the public as soon as possible.”
