Scotus allows Lisa Cook to remain in the Board fed in 2026, accept the case for the January argument

The Supreme Court moved on Wednesday to allow the governor of the Federal Reserve, Lisa Cook, to remain at the Board of the Central Bank in 2026, saying that he would take the appeal of President Donald Trump in the search to withdraw it due to cause during a hearing in January.

The court did not explain its decision. There were no notable dissidents.

The decision to let Cook remain in the work waiting for the result of the case marks a strong rest of how the judges have handled other cases that involve the elimination power of Trump in the independent federal agencies. In those cases, the majority of the Supreme Court showed deference to Trump’s shooting power, at least interim, while the litigation develops.

In a statement, a White House spokesman said the Trump administration would finally prevail in the case.

“We look forward to the best victory after presenting our oral arguments before the Supreme Court in January,” said White House spokesman Kush Desai.

In August, Trump moved to the member of the Fire Board, Lisa Cook, who sued Trump for her attempt to expulsion, saying that the decision violated her legal protections as an employee of the independent federal agency.

Trump said he eliminated Cook for accusations of mortgage fraud against him. Cook has denied any irregularity.

The Federal Law allows the President to eliminate a member of the Fed Board “for Cause”, although no president has tried such elimination in the 112 years of history of the Central Bank.

Last month, an appeal court confirmed a preliminary court order that requires that the Fed allow Cook to continue serving in its role as governor of the Federal Reserve system as its lawsuit moves through the courts. Trump asked the Supreme Court to allow him to eliminate Cook, but the highest court of the Nation denied the request.
