The Campus of the State University of the South Carolina was under a closure on Saturday night after a shooting in a residence, according to a notice on the University website.
In the notice, the University said the campus was locked after “shots to Hugine Suites.”
There is no word about any injury.

The State Division of Application of the Law to investigate was asked, said the university.
The university said that students in the bedroom of Suites Hugine must remain positions, and others should remain away and return to their own residences. Others were asked to leave the campus.
The University said a welcome concert scheduled for Saturday night has been canceled.
The South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, said in a statement about X: “My office is closely monitoring the situation at the State University of the South Carolina. Praying for everyone’s safety on the campus.”
The University, with a student population of some 2,900 students, is in the city of Orangeburg, in the center of South Carolina.
