An agent of the law was injured after an active shooter was reported near the Centers For Nursing Control and Prevention (CDC) headquarters and the Atlanta Campus of the University of Emory on Friday.
The Atlanta Police Department said the suspect is now dead by a gunshot wound, which may have been self -inflicted. No civilian was shot in the incident, police said.
Atlanta police chief Darin Schierbaum said during a press conference that the suspect shot multiple rounds in the CDC building, breaking windows.

There were 92 children in a nursery on the CDC campus at that time, which were not injured, the police added.
Responding to the Dekalb County Police officers located the suspect on the second floor of the CVS Emory Point pharmacy on the other side of the street from the CDC building and tried to involve the person when girlfriends were exchanged, police said.
A police officer was seriously injured in the exchange, said Schierbaum, who is currently in a hospital in the area.
Four others were transported to a hospital in the area for reasons related to stress and anxiety.
A refuge order was carried out in the place at the Campus of the University of Emory and then rose. “Run. Hide. Fight. Avoid the area,” said the university on an alert on Friday afternoon.

The governor of Georgia, Brian Kemp, issued a statement about X thanking the first to respond “towards the danger of submitting the shooter and saving lives.”
“We ask him to join us to hold them in our prayers, along with those damaged tonight near the center of the CDC,” Kemp wrote.
The FBI Atlanta and the Georgia Research Office are investigating the incident.

Georgia’s attorney general Chris Carr, issued a statement on Friday, saying: “We are horrified by the news of the University of Emory and pray for the security of the entire community of the campus.”
The White House is monitoring the situation, an official told ABC News.
